Submissions

Abstracts

Abstracts should range from 250-300 words giving an overview of the scope and content of the proposed paper. Submitted abstracts should have a clear marine design focus that matches up with at least one of the conference topics listed in the “Scope of Papers” section of the Home page.

When ready to submit, abstracts should be saved as PDF files and sent directly to the email address listed below. Submitted abstracts should have the following naming convention: [Last name of lead author]_[First name of lead author]_[First Four Words of Title].pdf. For example, if John Doe is submitting an abstract as the lead author for a paper titled “Basic Tenets of Marine Design for Offshore Floating Platforms”, the PDF file should be saved and submitted as Doe_John_BasicTenetsofMarine.pdf.

Special Sessions

The organizing committee welcomes proposals for special sessions around active research topics, large team research projects, or other topics that are strengthened by grouping papers together.  Special sessions should have 4-8 papers, with no more than half from one institution.  Special session proposals are due by December 1st, 2024.  The organizing committee will work with special session proposers to identify relevant papers and possibly combine closely related sessions.

Papers

Latex and Word templates for formatting of the paper submissions are provided below. All papers should be submitted in English. There is no upper page limit for the submissions, although we recommend trying to keep the body of the paper no greater than 8,000 total words.

Note: The Word Template has a minor update so the default Styles (Heading 1, Heading 2, Heading 3) can be used to correctly format the document. Submissions using either template would be accepted.

When ready to submit, papers should be saved as PDF files and sent directly to the email address listed below. Submitted papers should have the following naming convention: [Last name of lead author]_[First name of lead author]_[First Four Words of Title]_PAPER.pdf. For example, if John Doe is submitting a paper as the lead author for their work titled “Basic Tenets of Marine Design for Offshore Floating Platforms”, the PDF file should be saved and submitted as Doe_John_BasicTenetsofMarine_PAPER.pdf. Further instructions on FINAL paper submissions will follow.

*NOTE: Paper submissions should not be made until receiving written communication from the conference organizers that the Abstract has been accepted.
